How to Wash Knitted Hats by Hand?

1. Fill a plastic basin with water. Do not wash with hot or warm water, otherwise the hat will fade, and some hats will shrink. If you only wash oneortwo hats, plastic bowls are enough.

2. Pour in mild detergent. Stir well with a plastic spoon to make a layer of foam float on the water.

Washing wool knitted hats, it is best to use a special detergent to wash wool fabrics, otherwise, you can also use a mild detergent without bleach and other additives. Powdered detergent can be directly dissolved in water, so the washing effect is the best.

3. First dip one corner of the hat into the water. Before immersing the whole hat, try whether the hat will fade and whether the cloth will have adverse reactions. The cloth inside the back of the head must be soaked for 2 minutes, so that even if there is any adverse reaction, the damage will not be too obvious.

4. Dip the whole hat in. If the cloth has no adverse reaction in the previous step, you can immerse the whole hat in the water. If it's just a routine wash, just soak the hat in water for 30 minutes. If your hat is stained with mud or stubborn dust, you may have to soak it all night.

5. Rinse the cap. Take out the hat from the water, then turn on the tap water and wash the detergent with a large flow of water. Remember to rinse with cold water until the hat is no longer sticky and no foam can be seen.

6. Squeeze out excess water. Squeeze the water with both hands, and then put the hat on a clean dishcloth and gently pat it until no water drops. Do not wring it out, or the hat will be twisted and deformed.

7. Let the hat dry. Hang the knitted cap in a ventilated place, set the shape, and then lay it flat on a towel. If you want to make the hat dry faster, put the electric fan aside to blow, but do not turn on the hair dryer to blow with hot air. Otherwise the hat will shrink easily. Similarly, hats should not be placed in direct sunlight.
